AIMS & OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the Forensic Computing course is to provide the candidates undertaking it with the skills, knowledge and training required in order to apply Forensic Science on a computer or network of computers. Students will be able to expand their knowledge of how computers operate and communicate as well as issues related to networking and web technologies in order to develop the skills required to be able to use computers as a crime investigative tool. The course comprises both advanced computer science and particular developments in forensic sciences.
On completion of the course the successful students will be able to achieve mastery of forensic computing by demonstrating:
Advanced Knowledge and Understanding of the practical and theoretical concepts of computer science, current and emerging trends in technology, and how these will be applied in the context of forensic science.
Originality in the application of knowledge, tackling and solving problems; decision making in complex and unpredictable contexts; legal and organisational issues; preparation and presentation of technical reports.
